Sautéed Rainbow Chard

This Sautéed Rainbow Chard recipe will help you forget about the times as a child you were made to eat and help you create some cool and spicy new memories.

A few years ago the wife and I got a Lettuce Grow to eat more green leafy veggies and to have something cool in the house to remind us to eat that way. One of the easiest growing things inside of the device was Swiss and Rainbow Chard.

What is Rainbow Chard?

Now growing up getting Chard was never something that we requested or even really know what is was. So for those that may not know Rainbow chard is a leafy green vegetable that is packed with nutrients. It is a good source of vitamins A, C, and K, as well as magnesium, potassium, and iron. Rainbow chard is also rich in antioxidants and has anti-inflammatory properties.

How to The Best Rainbow Chard Ever

Wash and dry the rainbow chard. If removing from the garden or Lettuce Grow make sure you cut and remove the bottom-most part and throw away or add to your compost. You want to cut the leaves and stems.

Next you want to dice the shallot and the 2 garlic cloves and set aside.

In a large pan place the oil and butter and let it heat up for about 1 minute

Place the cut chard into the pan let it cook down for 2 minutes until you can tell a reduction in size.

Add the vinegar, lemon juice, salt, pepper, and red pepper flakes and stir for about 3 more minutes.
