This Cheeseburger Meatloaf recipe is easy to make and is a flavorful addition to any table. Made with seasoned ground beef, cheddar cheese, and covered in an amazing glaze. Your family will love this.
Meatloaf was a staple in my home growing up. There was never a bad time for it either. Sundays after church and Thursdays after the JV football game were the best times for us to have it. However, one day in particular, my younger brother wanted a cheeseburger and I wanted a good ole Meatloaf. So who won that battle? We all did! My dad (one of the coolest guys ever) came up with a variation of a classic recipe, Cheeseburger Meatloaf
What are the Ingredients for Cheeseburger Meatloaf
Like all cool people you want to make sure that you gather everything you need to get started. One of the UNcoolest things you can do is to start cooking and not have everything you need.
- 1 and 1/2 pounds of ground beef
- 1/2 sweet onion, finely chopped
- 2 eggs
- 2 cloves of garlic, minced
- 2 tablespoons of ketchup
- 1/2 cup of Italian bread crumbs
- 1/4 cup of heavy cream
- 1 teaspoon of salt
- 1 teaspoon of black pepper
- 1 teaspoon of onion powder
- 1 teaspoon of garlic powder
- 2 teaspoons of Italian seasoning
- 1 cup of shredded cheddar cheese
- 1 tablespoon, dill cubes
Meatloaf Topping:
- 1 cup of ketchup
- 1/8 cup of yellow mustard
- 1 teaspoon of white vinegar
- 1/4 teaspoon of black pepper
- 1 tablespoon of brown sugar
How to make it:
First thing you want to do is Preheat your oven to 375 degrees Fahrenheit. Let’s be honest, once you get rolling you don’t want to wait. Not preheating your oven is like stopping at a green light.
Next thing you want to do is line a sheet pan with foil paper. I like to use foil paper as it looks hip and clean up is a lot easier.
After you do that you want to get a large bowl, combine the ground beef, onions, eggs, garlic, ketchup, bread crumbs, heavy cream, salt, pepper, onion powder, garlic powder, Italian seasoning, cheese, and pickles.
NOTE: Don’t use lean ground beef use fatty ground beef the fattier the better
Next up, add the meat to the sheet pan and shape into a square loaf and bake in the oven at 375 degrees Fahrenheit for 35 minutes. Make sure you get your sculptor on.
After you put that beautiful work of art in the oven, create the glaze. Grab a small mixing bowl and combine ketchup, mustard, vinegar, black pepper, and brown sugar. Set aside while you enjoy the aroma of the meatloaf in the oven.
When your timer goes off, spread the glaze over the meatloaf and return it to the oven and bake for an additional 15-20 minutes or until the meatloaf reaches an internal temperature of 165 degrees Fahrenheit.
There you have it! Remove it from the oven, allow it to cool for 5-10 minutes, slice it, and then serve it with your favorite mashed potatoes.
